Welcome to FSJ!

Let me just start off by saying HOW excited I was counting down the days for my mom and sister to come visit Fort St John!! My sister had visited Fort St John back when I first moved up here (4 years ago), but my mom has not been able to make the trip yet. To have my mom & sister come see our house, see our day to day lives and just be with us in Canada was a really big deal to me! They flew out of MSP to Vancouver, had a 5 hour layover in Vancouver (there are never any good connection times so it's always a long layover!) and then they flew into FSJ.

They arrived the day before my mom's 50th birthday so it was awesome we would all be able to be together to celebrate her big 5-0! Thursday night we went to Roustabouts for dinner and then went to Mr. Mikes for drinks and dessert to celebrate!

Birthday girl :)

Friday night we went to watch the hubby's hockey game in Taylor. We stopped to grab Tim Horton's on our way of course! (They needed the full Canadian experience)

Saturday & Sunday I was booked with the boutique for "Ladies Day Out". It's a big event hosted every year in FSJ for a big shopping extravaganza and I was so happy to have mom & my sister here to help! I have always wanted to do a boutique show with them and now I finally could!

Cheers to a busy & fun weekend with the boutique! I was so thankful for their help and along with my husband's help!

For the rest of their visit it was so nice to be able to just drive around and show them the town, relax on the couch and just NOT be on a schedule. When Sean and I go home to visit them we are always so go go go.. we have so many places to go & friends to see.

Sean gave us a tour of the firehall...

We were lazy on the couch with Lilly…

Did a little sightseeing…

and did some hot tubbing in the freezing cold weather!

Of course time flew while they were here (doesn't every trip?!) but I am so happy & thankful they were able to come visit and see my Canadian life. I have lived in Canada just over 4 years now and sometimes its still hard to believe how far away I live from my mom & sister. Having them come to FSJ felt like my two lives were kinda coming together (if you know what I mean). Saying goodbye is always the hardest part and it doesn't seem to be getting easier. BUT I know I will be seeing them again soon! So many new Canadian memories have been made <3

xoxo Ashley
